Ups and Downs: Hydrocarbons 

Description:
 
The game is adapted from the all-time favourite, classic board game “Snakes and Ladders”, with addition of elements of organic chemistry. The same game can be used for other chapters during the learning of organic chemistry, all it need is just some modification to suit the other chapters. Ups and Downs: Hydrocarbon is suitable for 2 – 3 persons. 

How to play:
• Each player puts their counter on the space that says 'Start Here'. 
• Take it in turns to roll the dice. Move your counter forward the number of spaces shown on the dice. 
• Draw a question card from the assigned subtopic. 
• You can only move forward and remain on the space shown on the dice, if you answer correctly the question for the subtopic assigned to the space.
• If you fail to answer the question, you will have to return to your initial space. 
• If your counter lands at the beginning of an arrow, you must move up or down, according to the direction of the arrow. 
• The first player to get to the space that says 'Finish Here' is the winner. 

Materials needed: 
Ups and Downs board, question cards for the subtopics, counters, dice.
